I started my weekend with a long-planned dinner to celebrate a good friend's nose job.
The evening began in reverse, with the big reveal (on TV you have to wait 40 minutes) and it was a doozy. This lady, with her late-in-life nose shaving and restructure, has given herself a new lease. Her text to me while still in recovery -- "Mama, I'm a pretty girl now!" -- was right. (PrettIER would have been more apt.) What a nice way to start the weekend.
Now I want a nose job so I can show my friends at a dinner in my honor.
I screened a lot of Bravo shows over the weekend and caught up on some DVR buildup that had festered like the plague during my week in LA. And plague is a good metaphor given what I saw.
Oprah interviewing the families of the kidnapped boys, and then one of the boys themselves, was a rare misstep for the lady who always gets it right. The kid was in shock and so were the parents. I can't blame Oprah for wanting them to come on her show, but why in the hell did the parents say yes? What were they promoting? Write a book in a year of two and THEN go on Oprah to sell the damn thing, people.

Oprah has every right to ask and the parents have every right to decline; which I felt both set of parents should have done. I believe the media can’t exploit one or many unless they wish and allow themselves to be exploited by the media, by doing such interviews. I was taken aback by seeing the interviews because the last words the parents spoke were “we want privacy.” Yet show up on Oprah and do an interview also on GMA the following day. I believe Oprah is not to blame the parents are, not sure if they really want privacy or the “15 seconds of fame.”

Well out here in the Hamptonians we have a new enterprise in Watermill. The same building Peter Cook used to rent for his bizness ventures.
He's out and someone else is in. A new Trump real estate building with his big name all over it.
TRUMP. I think it's for Ivanka. It has to be.
That's our opinion around these parts.
Ivana judging on 'Apprentice'? Well it's as scary
as looking at the people who are on it if you ask me. And don't forget D gave Ivana the Plaza Hotel and she ran with it. I don't know where, but she did. Actually she probably just hired the best decorators she knew and then got Donald's accountants. Well you know where I'm going with this.
This is a great blog you're doing. It seems like
it might be new and there is not the usual bickering here yet.
Usually watch Oprah but didn't catch this one. Glad. She's almost always spot-on.
Well I'll catch your next blog.
