Snow?!

Thank God It's a Nor'Easter! I love a Nor'Easter morning like it was Christmas. It's an automatic excuse to dress like crap, drape the cashmere, build a fire, eat comfort food, and fully surrender to Janice Huff. If you treat a Nor'Easter like a holiday, it will feel Purim.

This morning I woke up to icy sleet (is that redundant?) and went into automatic cozymode. Robe, check. Coffee, check. Carpenters, check. That's right, what is more maudlin + cozy than the soft touch of Karen Carpenter to ease you into a rainy sleetstorm?

I was flipping through the New York Post sipping my coffee vibing with Karen when my phone rang. It was Transylvania on the line in the form of a good friend who's there shooting a movie. He asked if it was a good time.

"Sweetie, you couldn't have caught me at a better time. I am here and present and ready to go real, real deep with you."

And we did. He is miserable in Trannyvania and needed a pal. Talking to him made me all the more grateful to be potentially snowbound with an unread Cindy Adams column in front of me.
