I am in a photo studio all day casting beautiful models, so I don't want my focus from the task at hand to get racked by today's blog. So lemme keep it quick!
Chicago this past weekend was cheffy and great. The highlight was Kathy Griffin's SRO standup show at the Chicago theater on Saturday night. Went to the 10:30 show with Padma Lakshmi, Gail Simmons, and the biggest superstar in Chicago this side of Oprah, Dale Levitzki.
Seriously, to spend a night out in Chicago with Dale is to know what's going on inside Oprah's leboutains. To Chicago, Dale WON Top Chef. They loooove their Dale, and they gave him huge love walking into the Chicago Theater Saturday night. The theater was also spreadin' love to "Top Design" hometowners Matt Lorenz and Eric Kolasz.
Kathy's show was hilarious and electric, interrupted by several ovations. It was like opening night of "Rent." She told the entire backstory of her darling "Jesus Can Suck It" remark at the Shmemmys. She also riffed on Britney and "The View" and I don't want to spoil the rest because this stuff will turn up on Bravo sooner than you can say "Everybody Can Suck It". That lady can tell a story.
Kathy hosted a wee pizza party backstage after the show and I don't know if it's her romance with Apple Co-Founder Steve Wosniak or a fresh shot of botox, but she's looking damn good.
Dale took Padma, Gail and our crew to Cocktail for some....cocktails.

Kathy's show was indeed awesome.... from what I could actually hear! If you had the luck of geography to be sitting close to the stage, I bet it was wild! unfortunately for those of us who sat up in the balcony had to read her lips! Shame on The chicago theatre sound crew!!! We left after about an hour when it became apparent that it wasn't going to be corrected anytime soon, and it was just frustrating not knowing what was going on!
