Maybe Gale Harold's "death" on the TV show "Vanished" was planned all along. Because he's currently in previews for the Roundabout Theatre production of Tennesse Williams classic drama, Suddenly Last Summer.
Gale Harold stars on Broadway (meaning he's eligible to win a Tony) with the inimitable Blythe Danner (Gwyneth Paltrow's lovely mother), already a Tony winner.
Harold plays Doctor Cukrowicz, the ever-important fulcrum between mother and perhaps crazy cousin sparring over the death of Danner's son. The rest is, not history, but damn good drama.

Gale couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Shame on Roundabout for disrespecting the memory of Tennessee Williams.

er... wrong again. The production is actually off-broadway, which makes him inelligible for a Tony. Maybe third time lucky?
EDITOR'S NOTE: Touche, Razzberry2. Gale Harold's dip in the pond of great theater is relegated to the only Roundabout Theatre company's OFF-Broadway house. The company has two other Broadway theaters, but Harold is getting his shot in an Off-Broadway house. Not sure if this shows (again) that he's not worthy; that I'm a sloppy researcher; or you're a genius for catching the mistake. Probably all of the above.

Oh I think you'll find that the reason it is playing OB is because of the play itself - not the cast. Have you looked at what's popular on Broadway lately? Wicked, Rent, A Chorous Line, Chicago, Company, Hairspray... it goes on and on. 'Suddenly Last Summer' is hardly the musical romp punters are flocking to in their droves. It is, however, a darn good production.
I quote -
"...an extremely rewarding production of a brilliant play not often produced. I absolutely urge you to get tickets - it is not to be missed. In an industry plagued with Witches, Grinches, dancing cutlery, ABBA, singing apes, and a traveling circus - this production is surely a breath of fresh air." (BTW, you were likely right on the last two points though);]

One reason it's off-Broadway is that the Roundabout can get high-profile actors like these for limited runs. Not everybody is free to do a Broadway play for two years, but a lot of people with movie and TV gigs sheduled would LOVE to do Tennessee Williams for a couple of months.
