Remember the flap a few months ago about the army still listing homosexuality as a mental disorder? There was a tremendous outcry from the psychiatric community -- since they'd changed that "categorization" decades ago. So now it seems the the army has revised it’s stance. They’ve taken it off that list. Hooray!
But… they’ve put it on another list. This one is a list of “conditions” that includes things like “bed-wetting.”
That’s right. Both of the things that scared the hell out of you when you were seven are back where they belong, side by side.
Said the head of the American Psychiatric Association to the Undersecretary of Defense: “We appreciate your good-faith effort to address our concern that the document was not medically accurate. But we remain concerned because we believe that the revised document lacks the clarity necessary to resolve the issue."
Ya think?
