Now, we like to think that WE are The Queen. Yes, that makes no sense linguistically, but it means that several of us here at OUTzone think that we are THE Queen.
But we’ve seen the movie, The Queen, and are torn between allowing the real Queen Elizabeth to retain her title or giving it to Helen Mirren the actress who portrayed her so evil-y and human-ly.
So understand that the OUTzone office is having a bit of Queen obsession. (We can’t turn Freddie Mercury and the guys off our iPods.)
And so that’s why this ridiculous news story made us laugh. Headline: “Study: Queen Elizabeth II's speech becoming more common”
Now if that doesn’t stop readers dead in their tracts, they have no soul.
Apparently, Queen Elizabeth II sounds more like her subjects than she did a half century ago, when she first assumed her royal ''dutays,'' according to an academic study released Monday.
