Rick Schroeder and Mario Lopez in Talent Holding Deal

There’s a reason we watched “Silver Spoons.” The irresponsible dad. The awesome toys and bed. And now, that we’re old and out of the closet, we know how much we not-so-secretly coveted Ricky Schroeder. Cuteness is also the reason we sat through "Dancing With Mario Lopez" (AKA "Dancing With Stars") but more on him later.
The first good news is that Rick Schroeder will join the cast of FOX's “24” as CTU Operative Mike Doyle who partners with Keifer Sutherland's character Jack Bauer. Season six premieres over two nights and four hours on January 14 and January 15 at 8p each night.
Damn, that’s a lot of TV. But for Rick, we’ll couch potato for two days.
Thank god “24” will resume its regular time period on January 22 at 9p.
Second good news is that Mario Lopez is also in a "talent holding" pattern.
After hooking us into “Dancing With the Stars" because he's just adorable, the kind of guy/man/kid/dude you want to take home to mom. The dimples!
Now he's signing on with the unknown, know-nothing, ridiculous CW network has. The deal, called a "Talent Holding Deal" (no lie, we couldn't make that up!) means he will be cast in a pilot for next season, or develop a series for himself.
