And that’s a long intro to explain that an Academy Award nomination is helping the film Water finally come out in India.

After seven years.

Oscar-nominated Canadian movie Water will be shown in India this spring, seven years after angry Hindu nationalists stormed the sets, forcing its Indian-born director to stop filming.

This time, promoters say, they don't foresee any trouble. Distributor Sanjay Bhutiani said Water will open across the country in March.
