First of all, how great is this picture? It's resplendant in its gaiety and we all squealed with delight when we stumbled across it this morning. It's the best representation of "gay" and "opulent" we've ever seen.
All this due to an economic impact study released by “Packaged Facts” and LGBT P.R. firm Witeck-Combs Communications. According to the report, which we read about at 365gay, the buying power of American gays and lesbians will exceed $835 billion per year by 2011.
That’s right. Billion. With a B.
The statement was pretty direct in its stance, which read: "Corporate America is waking up to the enormous opportunity of marketing to gays and lesbians." (and...come on, shopping is the gay equivalent of hunting...)
But here’s the part that made our mouths drop open – the current buying power of the estimated 15.3 million America gays and lesbians – is already $660 Billion dollars.
Wha? Really?
