Cry Me a Joan Rivers

Tough year for Ms. Rivers. First Bravo dropped plans for her “Me and My Gays” talk show. And now she’s lost her red carpet duties.

Not that her schtick wasn’t getting tired. But isn’t all red carpet schtick getting tired. Why don’t the people just wear name tags that say, “I didn’t buy this dress. Galliano lent it to me.”

Gays will certainly miss Ms. Rivers & Co. (Melissa, her talented (or talentless?) daughter). Then again, she’s like a phoenix rising from the ever burning flames of celebrity comedy. So heaven knows Joan will appear on another station in time for the next awards season.
