Musical Mondays With Spider-Man?

In New York, there’s a little bar (that everyone knows) called Splash. And they havea night called Musical Mondays. All over the video screens streamed clips of Broadway musicals and tele-play musicals and movie musicals.

Sick and twisted and kind of beautiful. Now, with the announcement that Spider-Man is coming to Broadway, does that mean we’ll be forced to drink beer at Splash on Monday nights and listen to U2-written songs about Tobey Maguire!?

Say it ain’t so.

From the Associated Press: Spider-Man is swinging his way to the Great White Way.

A Broadway musical based on the web-slinging superhero is in the works, Marvel Studios said Friday. It will be directed by Tony winner Julie Taymor with new music and lyrics by U2 frontman Bono and guitarist The Edge.
