Rap star Eve’s string of hits and duets with artists such as Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys has made her one of the most successful female rap stars of all time. She’s also gorgeous and loves her lesbian fan base.
In a candid interview with journalist Clay Cane the hip-hop diva chats about everything from Barack Obama to Don Imus. What caught our attention the most however were her comments on both the rumors that she is gay and her lesbian admirers.
On the gay rumors she says, “I couldn’t care less. I wasn’t [bothered] in the beginning. It doesn’t bother me. I don’t care. Cole then asks her about her “hardcore lesbian fan base.” Is she comfortable with that diversity in her audiences?
“Absolutely!” she responds. “Why exclude? First of all, the gays, when they love you, they love you. They are very loyal. I have a huge gay men fan base -- I love them. And the lesbians? I love it. Why not?
Eve also isn’t shy about expressing her opinion to Cole regarding the topic of homosexuality in the rap industry, comparing the world of rap to professional sports or the military: “When it becomes that extra macho -- in that world, I think it’s very hard. It would definitely be much harder for a man than a woman to come out.”
Eve is set to release another studio album on August 7th, to be titled “Here I Am.” Last month she was arrested for DUI and was reportedly offered bail by none other than acting heavyweight Sean Penn, prompting the “Who’s That Girl” actress to tell Sohh.com, “There’s no craziness going on. I’ve known him (Sean) for years. We got mutual friends.”
