We don’t attend any Oscar parties here at OUTzone. It’s not that we’ve never been invited to one it’s just that … actually that is it ... we’ve just never been invited to one. Still, we can imagine that if we were to attend one of those swank Hollywood bashes, all big-eyed and star struck, there would be plenty to awe and amaze us:

“Look over there, Paris Hilton just fell into a punch bowl,” for instance. Or, “wow, is that really what Ewan McGregor’s crotch looks like?”

Now you would reason to believe that big time movie stars, who’ve seen it all before, wouldn’t be surprised by much of anything while at these mega-parties but that was not the case for the comedian Mike Myers.

The Austin Powers funnyman was in attendance at a post-Oscars party hosted by Elton John and was reportedly “flabbergasted” to discover that Elton’s long time boyfriend David Furnish was also Myers childhood friend.

PR-Inside.com provides the details. Myers, who was raised in Canada, was enjoying his time at the party when he spotted a man who bore a striking resemblance to his long ago friend Furnish.

“Elton John said, ‘Hello. There’s somebody I want you to meet.’ And he grabbed my hand and … (said), ‘You’re going to be very surprised.’,” remembers Meyers. “And then I see this guy looks exactly like my friend from Canada, this friend of mine named Dave Furnish. Then all of a sudden it was like, ‘I want you to meet my boyfriend David.’ He was in my high school. I couldn’t believe it, it was so weird.”
