It’s safe to say, Elton John knows a thing or two about music. So it must please British soul star Amy Winehouse to hear how the piano playing icon has hailed her to be “one of the greatest performers” he’s ever seen.
Elton and his partner David Furnish (you know, Mike Myers friend) recently attended a Winehouse concert in London, which brought on the accolades. Amy had previously disappointed the couple by cancelling a March concert, for which they were to attend, because of “unforeseen circumstances.”
PR-Inside reports that Winehouse later apologized for causing Elton to miss out on her show.
Despite the earlier setback John was completely impressed by the singer’s live performance adding, “Amy is an incredible performer. That was one of the most exciting and greatest shows I’ve seen in many years.”
We agree wholeheartedly with Elton’s assessment of Mrs. Winehouse’s music. We’ve never written “Rocket Man” or anything but we know good music when it hits the air and this songbird’s got some serious wings.
Our man Arjan agrees!

I fell head over heel for Ms. Winehouse with the "Frank" album. "Back to Black" now strengthens that love affair with its musical skill and seductive talent. The album has effectively introduced her to a much larger American audience; I hope they resist the urge to pigeonhole her talent and allow her patience as she evolves as an artist and discovers her potential.
