ImedNews reports, a man decided that he objected to the name of the lesbian motorcycle club “Dykes on Bikes,” presumably because he has absolutely nothing to do with either and can’t stand it.
A federal court of appeals ruled against the man, starved for attention, stating in court documents that he had no legal right to the objection.
Michael McDermott, the man who put forth the appeal, is a California lawyer who claims that the name for the lesbian riding club is “disparaging to men and is scandalous and immoral.”
“Because he is a man, McDermott can’t be harmed by a group’s decision to call itself “dykes,” the court wrote in a 3-0 decision, reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
Michael McDermott also sought to challenge the patent for “Dykes on Bikes,” which gives the club sole rights to use that name. For what possible ends could he have interest in using that expression? Just because they have a patent doesn’t mean you can’t still use it to sign onto AOL.
