It was all over the Internet the other day about how Jake Gyllenhaal ran a race on Martha’s Vineyard with another man -- and so it goes when you turn in an Oscar worthy performance in a gay cowboy movie. So who was his co-running man?
Gawker tell us he’s Austin Nichols, a sous chef at Mario Batali’s upscale Manhattan restaurant Babbo. From what we can gather the root of the Jake is dating Austin rumor is that race on Martha’s. That’s it. They weren’t seen holding hands, or canoodling at a secret location, or even warming each other up. There’s not a lot here to get us excited.
Gawker also informs us that Jake and Mario are old pals, having dined for breakfast (once) at Balthazar … or something. This most recent New Yorker magazine also mention that Jake is a regular at the Manhattan Italian restaurant Insieme because he used to wash the dishes there for Chef Marco Canora, who cooked at our beloved “Top Chef” host Tom Colicchio.
What does all of this prove? Is Jake Gyllenhaal gay? Is he a foodie? Is he a gay foodie? Is he a bisexual who does lunch a lot? What we don’t know, here at OUTzone HQ, we don’t care about it. We do know Chef Josie’s gay. We heart Chef Josie.
