Ellen and Portia Engaged

The day after gay marriage became legal in California, Ellen announced on her daytime TV show that she and long-term partner Portia de Rossi are going to tie the knot. The audience screamed in delight. And then of course Fox News had to go and act like it was something bad for America. But instead of putting those anger-inducing clips up, we thought we'd just put up Ellen's announcement. We could care less about marriage but it's still sweet.

Congrats to Ellen & Portia!! Here in Massachusetts we had a little more time between the decision in November 2003 to the actual gay marriages on May 17th 2004. For gay couples who have been in relationships for years this isn't a problem but for those caught up in the moment counseling is a good place to start to know what the legalities are. Marriage is a basic civil right that should be attainable by all Americans if they choose. For those who are uncomfortable with this check out our short produced to educate & defuse the controversy.
