Rachel Maddow, political commentator, is moving to a great big apartment, formerly occupied by Dan Abrams around the intersection of 9pm and MSNBC. Network president, Phil Griffin had spoken earlier this year of having her on the top of his list for a show. But here it is the real deal. Lesbian political commentary everyday on a major news network.
We're totally into it, not just because we share gay inclinations and she always says what we're thinking, but because this says something about people who watch MSNBC and what they want. They want a saavy, left-wing, lesbian who shoots bullets of truth to host their news show! The world is changing! Plus she's easy on the eyes and ears. Sigh.
Apparently the network is seen to be branding itself as the liberal alternative to Fox News, now that Maddow is joining Keith Olbermann in a prime-time slot. All you liberal talk radio junkies, needn't worry though, she's going to keep doing her Air America show. She also plans to reshape her hour into a more generalized news show after what she calls the "political Christmas" is over.
