Marc Jacobs Loves Fake Lesbians

tatu.jpgThat must explain why he's picked the girls from t.A.T.u to be the faces of his new fall and winter lines. We'll admit they were a sensation for like a second a few years ago. And then everyone was all shocked when they found out they were only playing gay. Um, it was just as obvious as all those boy bands playing straight. The stupid thing was that anyone fell for it. We remember some normally self-respecting lesbians getting all drooly over the young Russians kissing in their video. Lesbian titillation for promotional purposes wasn't new then and it's not new now (aka Katy Perry kissing a girl).

The only question is why Marc Jacobs has decided to jump on the bandwagon. Being a gay, he should know better. And until now, he's had a bit better taste, using more interesting people like Sofia Coppola, Stephen Malkmus and Chloe Sevigny.
