Okay, that's kind of a lame headline. But what we're trying to get at is who exactly did Dusty Springfield get with on the gay side? Inquiring minds want to know. Page Six has a tidbit today on a new book about the singer's life by Annie Randall titled, Dusty! Queen of the Postmods. Richard over at the Post wanted to focus on Dusty's Catholicism excuse, but what we're interested in is not the excuse but the real deal. Apparently there's a chapter about a live-in relationship with Dusty in Carol Pope's autobiography.
Here's some vaguely lesbionic quotes from Dusty herself:
"Am I gay? . . . If you want to know the truth, ask the people who go to bed with me."
"A lot of people say I'm bent, and I've heard it so many times that I've almost learned to accept it....I know I'm perfectly as capable of being swayed by a girl as by a boy. More and more people feel that way and I don't see why I shouldn't."
Speaking of Miss Springfield, back in May, there were reports that Michael Cunningham was writing the screenplay for a Dusty biopic to star Nicole Kidman. We're all for a Dusty pic (everyone else has one, why shouldn't she) but why, why does it have to be Nicole Kidman?
