Grey's Anatomy - One Lesbian Down

For reasons unknown (sort of) ABC has abruptly expunged the character of Dr. Erica Hahn. We don't watch Grey's so any information about characters and their relationships is third-hand. But apparently this Dr. Hahn was doing it with Callie, who was also sometimes still doing it with Mark. Whatever. The shows creator says that it has nothing to do with her gayness but rather the lack of magic and chemistry with Callie. But we can't help but notice the timing. Gays get denied the right to marry and lesbians on prime time start going down. And it's ABC/Disney no less. We're just saying.
Sweeps often leads to lesbian hookups for momentary ratings spikes (oh, it's so risque!) but lesbians characters can't seem to hang in long-term on prime time. What do you think about Erica Hahn's demise? Will she be missed?
