The Project Rungay Boys

20060918_rungay_260x220.jpgWe spoke with the "Project Rungay" boys, and they are simply darling. They've become the men behind the super-popular "PR" fan-site thanks to their hilarious coverage of all things "Runway."

We're huge, stupid, ridiculous fans of yours, we read it all the time. Who the hell are you people?
We're Tom and Lorenzo..

OZ: Where are you located?
Lorenzo: We're in Philly.
Tom:It's the Jan Brady of the East Coast.

OZ: What made you start doing this?
Lorenzo: Laura. We just love that woman. She's basically the reason we started the blog, believe it or not. When the season started, we saw Laura and said, "We love this woman, we have to find a way to talk about her."
Tom: I want to have drinks with her.
Lorenzo: Oh my God, I just want to shop with her. I just want to go shopping with her.
Tom: We really just love the show, and we didn't feel like there was anybody out there giving the bitchy gay take on it.
Lorenzo: People do a lot of recaps and stuff but nothing like what we do. We love the show, and now that we have the time to do more, we figured, why not?
Tom: Plus the wild crush on Tim Gunn.
Lorenzo: We just love him.
Tom: And it's not just ... I mean, Tim is gorgeous, and I think we've pretty much alluded to that, but we really mean it when we say that Tim is a role model for gay men.
Lorenzo: And not just gay men. Any men.
Tom: True, but the gay community does not hold up mature men as role models often enough and here's one that's just got it goin'on and is well respected in his career and what's not to love and respect and aspire to - when it comes to Tim Gunn?

OZ: The diction alone.
Tom: And the posture!
Lorenzo: And then after we read your interview with him where he openly talks about being gay, and how fabulous it is to be gay, it just makes it better.

And you met him last week!

Thanks for the interview. These guys are hilarious and a snarky ray of bliss. Their blog is "crack" for Project Runway addicts.

These guys are too funny and so nice. I sent them a random gushing email and they actually wrote back. I've been enjoying the interviews with all PR folks you've been doing. Keep up the good work!

What a nice surprise to see the Project Rungay guys here. Project Rungay Blog is the ultimate in snarktastic! They've got the best Nina Garcia captions, the fabulous Ode to Tim Gunn...Love it!

Thank you for recognizing this pocket of Fabulosity on the WWW. I am in love with both of these guys! Without their blog, Project Runway would be...I can't believe I'm actually going to write this as I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show....boring this Season. They sprinkle snarky sunshine in to my every day. Smooches!

Thank you for shining your spotlight on these two lovely boys, who are providing a much-needed balance for a show that often seems to take itself WAY too seriously. In fact, I wouldn't even enjoy the show half as much without the PR Rungay Boys' blog! I read it faithfully, and they are always on target. Sometimes bitchy, never nasty, ALWAYS FABULOUS! xoxoxo

LOVE that you all featured these two! They're just as nice as they can be, email-wise anyway... glad I'm not on the show, they'd snark me silly! Thanks for the terrific article!

Mira wrote:

love these guys. I'm so glad that you featured them, they deserve all the recognition they can get. I now read them before Tim Gunn!

However, I was saddened to learn they live in Philly. I thought they learned in NYC, near me. I had hoped that I might one day run into them.

I LOVE these guys!!! I stumbled on their site by accident and have been HOOKED every since. Thanks for the interview, I learned things that I never knew (ex: ten year relationship). That's awesome. I definitely wish them the best & pray that they return next season. And honestly- deep down they make this heterosexual female WISH she was gay!!! I want a have a gay perspective on things too!

Carol wrote:

Like G, I stumbled onto the site accidentally. Love these guys! I too am a heterosexual female who loves gay men! As for Tim Gunn, very sexy, classy, wonderful!! I will be checking in more often to you two now.

I would like to read the "Project Rungay Boys" Blog, but this article did not give the web address. Could someone tell me what it is?

(EDITORS NOTE: ABSOLUTELY. www.projectrungay.blogspot.com. Enjoy!)
