But generally what happens is that once they hit like 6th or 7th grade, they’ll go after school to the deli with a group, and then come back to school where their parents pick them up. So it tends to be gradual. It’s not overnight, it’s not, “Now you’re eleven, you can have your ears pierced and travel alone on the subway.” And thank god for cellphones.
Is Michael Knight dating Brandy?
I don’t know. I don’t think so. I know she was at the show. I know that they talked about him doing some styling for her. I think in the end, he’s going to make a huge splash in the entertainment industry. You watch.
There were a lot of people talking about your IKEA furniture.
Oh right. I saw that. The “she pretends to be this rich ... you know, whatever, and I recognize that from IKEA.” Let me tell you something, first of all -- it’s all they deserve. My kids destroy furniture. And the few nice pieces that I’ve gone out and bought -- there are these red wool chairs that look great when you see them on television, but up close, you see that they're encrusted in yogurt. I have to scrape the upholstery.
So IKEA is all they deserve. I spend my money on shoes. Because I can take those away. And nobody can destroy them. I have some nice antiques. But they destroy everything, it’s not the time to have good furniture. It’s fine, it’s just what kids do.
