Part 2: Santino Gets Nasty

THIS IS PART TWO OF THE INTERVIEW WITH SANTINO. PART ONE WAS PUBLISHED YESTERDAY.

andysblog_santino3_320xjpgOK, GIVE ME YOUR OPINIONS OF THE OTHERS STILL IN THE GAME. LAURA I KNOW ... ULI?

I liked Uli too when she came to the casting. I vouched for her. Some of the other judges didn't see it or thought it humdrum -- but she had a great eye for combining prints. She's talented, she has a stylist background, and that's completely valid. A lot of her work on the show I found mesmerising and beautiful.

MICHAEL?
I didn't go to the final fashion show in NYC, but it looks like Michael brought the Projects to the runway. But he can ride on being Mr. Congeniality. Michael will probably win the fan favorite award ... for whatever that's worth.

WHERE CAN SOMEONE BUY A SANTINO DRESS? WHAT IF SOMEONE WANTS TO COMMISSION SOMETHING FROM YOU?
I'm pretty easy to find. They can email me either through santinorice.com or I've given them my card and they get back to me. I've kept my Myspace as well!

WHAT ARE YOU UP TO THESE DAYS?
Boy, let me tell you, I love this question! I get it on a bi-daily basis. Let me see, I'm still constantly searching for new stimulation. Still very curious about life. Self-discovering. Still looking and talking to potential investors. Fashioning my escape from mediocrity. Creating a full-fledged lifestyle empire! But check back tomorrow...

Santino, I am so glas you are no longer on Project Runway. You were rude, arrogant, and your designs were trashy.

Santino... yes he was all of the above, and I did dislike him immensely on the show, but I do believe he is a good designer. He has it in him to outshine the sun with his creations. But he needs to stop, listen, observe, and try to put a little of the client into his garment. I did not like his attitude on the show... but it sold viewers and got him noticed. Some of his garments were absolutely stunning... and some were frankly awful. I wish him luck.

Your opening remarks during Olympus Fashion Week were crude. You were not a professional, and you sorely needed to be.

You could learn a thing or two from "Mr. Congeniality" Michael Knight. His wonderful attitude will take him far in life whereas your sour one won't.

Starfruit wrote:

Katy,
I find that commentvery rude in itsself. This article was about what Santino is doing currently his thoughts, and ideas on the questions that where asked of him. Your basing your statement on what you saw through an edited tv show. Santino has never said he wasn't an ass. I found his designs at fashion week where fantastic. Loved each and everyone of them. But as several people have said its a matter of taste to what each person likes. As for him no longer being on project runway...of course he's not its a once a season thing. I say leave it alone and let the man live his life.

why would anyone care who santino has sex with, he looks like (EDITOR'S NOTE: WATCH THE DEROGATORY LANGUAGE, KIDDOS!) ..... a voice that sounds like he went down on barbedwire, the closest feeling he inspires in me is similiar to a violent irritable bowel syndrome episode.real sexy

Emily wrote:

I'm really tired of all of the negative Santino comments. People who hate Santino and call his clothes "trashy" know nothing about real fashion. And, in my opinion, people who think he was rude on the show are just too sensitive. All of his comments were said in a funny way and were not mean-spirited. Chill out, people. Santino's clothes are great, and that's the bottom line.

Pilar wrote:

Santino, I loved the fact that you composed your own music for your runway show... You are very creative and multi-talented...

christina wrote:

I lllllooovvveee Santino. I hope that the world realizes his fashion and creativity should be an inspiration to us all. Someday I will have a Santino gown in my closet and wear it every night.
For everyone else, get off your high horse. Don't you realize how edited the show really is???!!!

kathy wrote:

I thought Santino added a lot of spice to season 2. I couldn't wait to see what he'd come up with next. He really cracked me up. He did get ugly about people at times, and I felt he should have been above that. I think there is probably a great person in there, and a very talented one as well. Perhaps he learned a lot about himself and others. I wish him the best of luck.

Another Emily wrote:

Santino is awesome- he was very watchable. He added something to do the show that is definitely missing season three. Mainly, he's HILARIOUS. To the interviewer- way to bow down. I felt like you sepnd 1/2 the interview apologizing to Santino because you may have "offended him"- he's abrasive, he can handle you standing up for yourself.

What does it mean? “Michael brought the Projects to the Runway.”

BeBelter wrote:

Rewatching Season Two had me feeling a little more pity towards Santino. All that sympathy is gone after reading his thoughts here. I'm glad that he's not successful as he'd like to be. And I agree: let's none of us talk about him ever again. He's a one of a kind none of us need recall.

Anne wrote:

I love you Santino! You made season 2 the best one so far. Your designs are awesome and you rock! Keep up the good work.

Try wrote:

Santino is a very talented man and I think some of the viewers are too hard on him. He's probably one of the most sincere and genuine people out there. Yes, he can sometimes come off as harsh but he's real and his honest. He shouldn't be belittled because he may lack diplomacy at times. A lot of his comments are tempered with humor and some of you take them far too seriously. Give the man a break. I believe there's more to Santino than what producers of a reality show wanted us all to see. You don't have to like Santino but some of the negative comments are rude and derogatory. I appreciated Santino's candor on the show and his undeniable talent. But unlike some of you, I realize there's more to Santino that what meets the edited eye.

i love santino. i can't wait for a ready-to-wear collection so i can have something for myself

So much self hatred Santino

Hope wrote:

Santino might have some kind of good reason to be so paranoid and cruel, but frankly, most people don't care what it is. The point is, he thinks too much of his own ideas to think about them and censor them before they come out of his mouth. It's a character flaw, not a self-promoted quirk that he's cultivated to make viewers "appreciate his candor". It's a pretty serious problem that will UNDOUBTEDLY lead to an end to his five minutes of fame, and he'll have no one to blame but himself.

Rayne wrote:

Brought the "Projects" to the runway. Yeah real cool man. Thank you Bravo for giving this person his 5 (fleeting) minutes of fame.

The Projects wrote:

"Brought the projects to the Runway" means Santino rejects the culture of his mother and disregards that part of his heritage that has not been adopted by the mainstream. Witness the "fags throwing shade" comment. I doubt that came from his LA based trashy fashionista crowd.

Marilyn wrote:

I love Santino and thought he should have won season 2. And as for his personality, all of you couch psychologists need to find something else to do. Which would you rather have, a surgeon with the most caring personality and zero skills or an abrasive asshole of a surgeon with superb skills? It's about fashion, people, not about being Mr. Congeniality.

Wgordon wrote:

leonard asks "What does it mean? “Michael brought the Projects to the Runway.” What Santino is doing is making a racist, derogatory remark. He is stating that Michael and his fashions are from the Projects and should stay there. But Santino, you miserable loser, you can only dream of having Michael's talent and fan base. You have become a free loader, living on your 15 minutes of fame on PR,flying on someone else's dollar to exotic places that your worthless talent will never support you in doing. Michael did win the Viewer's Choice something you wanted desperately. $7000.00 for a Santino original?? In your wet dreams!!! Your attitude may get you a blog, but it will never get uyou into the real fashion world. So long, loser.
