And THEN she had MORE brass huevos to complain about Carlos' garden delight. Another contender who deserved the pan was Marcel. Not only was his stuffed turkey roll dry, but his cranberry thingie -- despite the fancy label he gave it -- was nothing but glorifed Jello, for crying in Manhattan! But no-o-o-o-o. It was helpful, mannerly, handsome Carlos who got the pan. (I think both Anthony Bourdain and Tom Colicchio were total yahoos to let him go!)
I admired, however, Carlos' reaction to getting the pan. He took it like a real caballero and a great sport.
Let it be said that Carlos didn't CHOOSE to make a salad, it was thrust upon him, and he did the best he could with what he was assigned.
