Greetings my friends! Welcome to my newest (and most fun to date) venture, my own weekly blog! Curious to know what life is like for a faux-celebrity, reality star? Wondering what you must pick up next time you’re shopping with the girls? Or are you perhaps one of the unlucky few who mistook this site, and my twinky face, as something else?
Regardless of what brought you here I welcome you all with open arms, so sit back and enjoy the inner workings and weekly mishaps that make up my life... but be tender, it’s my first time.
Summer is just around the corner and we all know what that means … No, not just an excuse for weekly pedis and afternoon Coronas -- SKIN my friends and plenty of it! If, like me, the warm weather hits and you find yourself wishing for: a) a bigger body; b) a smaller body; or c) anything else you’ve wanted to change about your body but haven’t done a damn thing about. Either take action, or simply dress what you DO have in a hot new swimsuit!

I’m a very strong believer in wearing what looks good on your individual body, regardless of what the hot new trend may be. (That being said, I know I’m not the first and surely won’t be the last to mention that spandex is a privilege, not a right, and should be considered only if a quarter can bounce eagerly off your bum.)
In the past few decades, men’s swimsuit designs haven’t varied greatly from the standard we know today, but rest assured that only two generations ago men were still fighting for the right to swim bare-chested (well I declare!). I can only imagine the titillating excitement a majority of girls felt (and most likely some boys) in the early 19th century when wandering eyes fell upon the image of a glistening, well-toned man, emerging from the water looking like the backend of a drowned wooly mammoth in one of the socially acceptable one piece wool swimsuits, complete with deeply slashed armholes and closed leg trunks….

After many years of gay news, blogs, photos, and more, OutZoneTV.com is closing...

Daniel,
Great blog, now here's my question: I am 5'5" 120 pounds, 28 inch waist (have been since high school and that was over 20 years ago) what type of swimsuit would look best on my frame? Like you I usually do the mid thigh trunks. Have I been right?
Thanks,
Michael

I am a self-proclaimed perminent 39 year old with a spare tire. I tease my friends that I went past the six pack and into the keg. I used to have a God like body, but time injuries and pizza took care of that. I have just moved to an area rich with beaches, fun, and pools. I am wearing a bathing suit that is common place and hides the belly (kinda) I am half latino and I am wondering what color goes with my skin and size. I am 6'4" and though heavy look stocky. Help.

dear Danel,
ever since the debut of Project Runway season two, my freind and i fell completely in love with you and your designs. i really wish you had won. i read on the bravo website that you are a gymnist. when i learned this it made me respect you all the more becasue i am a dancer and those two areas are somewhat alike. i tried to get into fashion design but, sadly, i am sewing machine handicapped so i'll just admire from afar. anyway, unlike most of the veiwers on this site i am only 15, 5'5" and 110lbs. i live in a beach community so i am at the beach almost every day in the summer. i usually wear long board shorts, but i would like to wear a bathing suit which is more comparable to the size of track shorts; just above mid-thigh but still loose. my question to you is...does such a thing even exist? and.. would i look complelety ridiculous? to be honest, im just making up these questions for an excuse to write to you. thanks for listening! love always, Peter

I'm sad Project Runway is over, but you're got bigger and better things to do, I bet. I briefly met Nick Verreos some time ago during the Project Runway season 3 auditions. I'm way underage...but I went just to talk to some of the designers and look at the wonderful fashion that was made. Nick was a very nice guy. What would you recommend for someone like me who is very tall and VERY skinny? I usually wear trunks (usually with some kind of weird Hawaiian theme), but I feel that the square shape draws too much attention to my ridiculously girlish hourglass waist and makes me look anorexic. (Guess a speedo would be worse, tho...) Anyway, best wishes for success, but with your talent, I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more about you in the future. -Dave (aka Die-Hard 'Dan-Fan').

but I miss not seeing you. I wanted you to win so much and it hurt. Of all the contestants there, You were a trly gentleman and so wise for your age.As for Santino, he makes me sick with his use of language and I can not believe that he was kept in the show that long.I love to see what you are doing next and happy to see you have a blog and are working for NYLO. I saw you on the present Runway for the new season and I was happy to see you.Contrary to what I read in the press that only young people whatch the show, they are wrong. I am a young 72 yrs.old and I attended fashion school in Italy but my dream of being a designer never came through. I am a size 12 dress and 5'.5" tall and I would love to wear the clothes you design.I love fashion and I will be looking to see how you are doing daily. Good luck
and congratulation Dan. I love you.

Hey there Daniel,
Just wanted to say that you were a insperation to the youth of America (Both gay and straight) You showed that you could go head to head with people of the industry and just blow them away with your ideas and you eye for beauty. I applaud you for that. Your the type of reality TV show star that we have been waiting for. Koudos--

Daniel, I'm not sure if this is the area in which I'm supposed to write a question, but whatev here goes. I live in Dallas, have just graduated from college, and am now working at an interior architectural design firm. The office in which I work is very much a professional environment however being in a creative industry, we are allowed quite a bit of license concerning appropriate work attire. I feel that the women with whom I work are more able to take advantage of this situation than my fellow male co-workers and I are. What might you suggest I do to spice up my wardrobe and have some more fun with my summer time work clothes?
Thanks

Daniel your a wonderful add to the fashion world. I am an aspiring designer and have dreams of going to FIT myself for a fashion design major. Your style inspires my own and, although you did not win, you have many people who believe in you.
Good luck! By the way, any advice on portfolios and such for an aspiring designer?
-Much love and peace,
Chris

Daniel,
Love your collection and style. You make me wish I was a guy, but I'm glad I'm a woman and able to wear your designs.
Maybe I should be a gay guy who's a crossdresser, and have the best of everything:
Your designs, and a shot at flirting with you.
Hope to see your stuff available somewhere!
Carry on...
