I have to share that I was ecstatic to read that one of my favorite producers from Project Runway, now has his own weekly blog. Who is this no-name wonder you ask?
You see, during the taping of the show, producers and crew were adamant about not “crossing the line” (you must say this as you vigorously wave your hand in front of you from side to side -- drawing the proverbial boundary) between us, the people being watched, and them, the people doing the watching. Well, after 32,783 hours of taping, no outside interaction, and your own sanity at stake, you begin to care less and less if they actually respond back and just continue to swipe their hands in front of your face; it’s just someone new to talk to! The days and weeks would go by and Michael would sashay into the workroom, looking like a combination of the elusive Hot Gay Nerd and the cute boy next door, with that “I just spent 30 minutes getting ready to make it look like I just rolled out of bed” look -- you know the type. Well, try as I may, the man never wore down. Not once did he respond to my sexual advances (He’s straight), my questions of what the next challenge would be (He’s professional) or my come hither eyes (He’s straight).… Geez, Michael, like a little over the sweater action would’ve killed you!
Needless to say he is a great guy (as is ALL of the crew and producers), and I thought since only a few people have responded to his little, lonely blogs thus far, you should all click over and give him some of the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown me! Besides, for you fanatics it’s even more of that behind-the-scenes dirt that you so ravenously crave.
(Oh, and Michael, since you and big Bravo exec Mr. Andy Cohen seem to have started a little blog war without me, I just wanted to say that that’s fine. Yes I’m a little hurt I wasn’t included, but that’s fine. It’s not like you’ve ignored my feelings before… but you Andy! I thought we were friends! Maybe Tim and I will start one without either of you two then, how would you feel about that?)
Also (not like this blog could get any more random), I wanted to clear up some confusion surrounding myself, my career and the path I’ve chosen to follow. Whether you’ve heard or not, I’ve opted to postpone launching my own line, in lieu of gaining a few years of experience under another designer. I feel that the experience and knowledge I would gain would not only be beneficial to me as a designer, but as a future business owner as well, and I eagerly look forward to working with a creative team of people on a much larger scale than I’m used to.
Now this is where people ask me “So, why aren’t you working with Michael Kors then?”

Well, Daniel, this is disappointing. Call me crazy, blind, or just plain delusional, but I was developing this giant crush on you from watching Season 2 on dvd, and here I thought you were a straight guy with great fashion sense. Sigh. Ah, well. Should've known by the way you wore that scarf. So lovely, you are. Best of luck with your interview. Off to cry into my hankie.

Daniel! Hi, yea its my first time ever commenting on your blog and being a complete dork I find that exciting so bear with me as I try to be coherent in the following sentences, this could end horribly.
First off, I adore you to no end, but thats obvious. So, yea.
Its really good to see you're not giving up after the turn down by Kors! I hope your interview goes well.
On another note, reserving any and all domains you have even the slightest wish to use at any time is a good plan. People are completely evil when it comes to fighting for domains.
Well, project runway has returned from commercial so I'm off to be obsessive.
Cheers!

I think you've acted beyond your years on this career decision and I think that's pretty cool (but expected of you after seeing the wisdom you dropped on Nick when he thought he was going to quit)... you're designs are awesome and good luck with your job interview... I'm sure if the interview has eyes at all you should get the job. In other news I think you should go to Broadway in Bryant park on the 10th because I'm going to be there and if I met you I would have a 100% chance of dying instantaneously. for real...

You are by FAR my favorite designer, not of only PR, but of every other designer ive ever known of.(Which believe me is alot, 3 hours of flipping through Star and People mag. looking for upcoming designers...)Along with the other 100's of fans who have wrote this, thank you sooo much for convincing Nick to stay after he was thinking about quitting! I think he should have made it to the top 3, along with you, of course, and Santigo. Well, 2 out of 3 isnt bad! I really dont think Chloe should have won, though. Dont get me wrong, shes a great designer, but she already has a boutique in TX and was just using PR to further her career, rather then get it started. I think postponing youre collection to gain expereince is a great idea, and good luck with it. Ill just have to stare blankly at the complete 2nd season of project runway to satisfy my craving for your designs. oh well. I CANT BELIEVE THAT B**CH STOLE YOUR NAME TO PUT ON A WEB SITE! People like that should not be allowed to have any human contact. Well, this is getting kinda lengthy, so im gonna wrap it up. Even as a 12 going on 13 year old, i really appreciate your sophisticated style for women, and think you have an amazing carrer as a sucsessfull fashion designer ahead of you.
Best Wishes,
Haley

Again leaving a comment - though you probably won't remember my first.
How could Michael Rucker turn you down? If I were a straight man I wouldn't have resisted.
But I'm not even a man. haha. =P
My best wishes for you and your designs!
Hey, are you still in touch with Nick? Did something happen between you two during the show? xD aah, it would be neat if you answered that on your next post.
Well, time to go now.
Auf Wiedersien! (or something like that - who knows!?)

Michael Kors made a huge error in judgment when he didn't hire you! Your designs were wonderful! I actually had picked you as the winner, but it was a close one. You have very sophisticated taste as a designer which, given your young age, is quite amazing. I think your decision to hold off on your own line is a smart decision. Gaining experience with other designers will only give you more of an edge when you do decide to launch your own line.
Best of luck. I'll be watching. And...have no fear, you'll find someone better than Michael, who will jump on your sexual advances.

I'm so happy I found your blog. Like everyone else here, you are my absolute favorite designer in all the seasons of Project Runway.
I really admire your decision to hold off on starting your own line until you're more experienced. I'm sure this will serve you well in the long term. You are wise beyond your years.
Best of luck with the big interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! Please keep us posted on what happens.

Hey Daniel
I only recently discovered PR when I started watching the 3rd season. Well as of just a few minutes ago, I just saw a marathon of the 2nd season where you were by far my favorite designer. My favorite episode was when the designers designed for each other. I have to say, you looked as at home ON the runway as you did sitting beside it =) You described yourself as "... semi-adorable..." on this post to your blog. I felt compelled to correct you; I found you to be 100% adorable !
I know we'll see more of you in the future, hopefully the not so distant =D
Cheers

Daniel,
You were by far the most "wearable" designer. I would buy your clothes in a hot minute. Remember, not everyone is a size 2 -- please cut for a size 12! As for Michael, it's his loss -- you'd be a great asset for his organization, but I do think seasoning isn't a waste. Good move!
Cheers --

Hey Daniel,
I think it was your attitude toward design make you unique and different from other designers, which is what I respect the most.(Coz I am not a big fan for those commerical TV show) As an interior designer myself, I always ask myself about what does design means nowaday, especially in this comerical and opportunistic American society.(ha, think about yourname.com, people would actually do that, huh?!?) Design shouldn't be just about looking "cool", "hot", or "sexy". (Oh god, I hate those term!!!) Design without content and personal opinion is forgetable and....... well, such a waste of material.
Keep it up! You will be somewhere for sure.
