This week, I’m going to spend some time answering reader questions across the comments on my blog. So, here goes nothing!
Azhan wrote: Any tips on good scarves for fall/winter, Daniel?
Well if you know me, you know that I love a great scarf: Easy to throw on, convenient when running in and out of the cold and a much cheaper alternative to getting numerous different winter coats. I like using the opportunity for accessories to bring in color/print/pattern into my wardrobe, and whether it’s a muted paisley or a school-boy stripe I always suggest making a statement! Also, I hate the feeling of itchy nylon or polyester against my neck, so opt instead for more luxurious fabrics like silk and cashmere to give your skin a lavish feeling when battling the elements.
Joanneinboston wrote: Hi Daniel. Forgive me if I'm asking the obvious and over asked question, but I'm really interested to know who you are designing for? Do you design upon request, or are you working towards something that does not allow you the luxury of commissioned designs?
Hi Joanne. Ask away my dear, believe me, you’re not the first to ask, “So what are you doing now?” Haha! Well, to sum up my future in a few sentences … I’m looking to work under another designer for a few years to gain more experience before venturing completely out on my own (and I have two very different job offers at the moment!) and will fill you in when/if I decided which road to take. In the meantime, I’m involved in numerous design projects ranging from an extensive collection for a new chic hotel chain (nylohotel.com) opening Fall 2007, to some celebrity dressing, charity work and a possible How-To Book! Basically, like every designer, I’m simply working on getting my work out there! Oh, and at this time I don’t do a lot of commissioned design work, the pay off/work ratio is extremely difficult for someone as small as myself.

So basically the story of you and Kieran (whether it was completely true or not doesn't matter, if you can make something up that great it works for itself) was adorable! Now tell me where I can find a guy like either of you that's straight :)

Daniel, your sense of style and dressing is rather inspiring and iconic in some ways or another (atleast in my opinion). Iconic not in a sense of glamour and celebrity-like but, exudes a certain persona. From half-way across the world who've watched how you endeavour in Project Runaway 2, are there possibilities where you venture into mens' wear? and probably design based on the sort of clothes you would wear and encourage us to have? At 5ft 5, I do have trouble at times to build a basic guys' wardrobe as some of the great looking ones are available in large sizes even the S.

Now, your love story is indeed cute.I wish some guy would also notice my wallet-although I admit it isn't fashionable and fancy... or maybe my shoe- ha! I'm hopeless. And I have a question. Since you definitely have the talent and taste for fashion, do you also paint? Like I was thinking that you're an artist of other 'fields' as well.

Daniel,
I am considering what to do with my life, though I am only in Middle School. I am so interested in fashion design, but I have currently lost my sketch book and lost interest. What are some ways I can get enthused again? And I can't sew. At all. Pointers?
Thanks!
Gigi

Hi Danny! I love and adore your blog, it's so funny and useful! And you are such a cutie. (I'm so jealous of both Kieran and Anna.)
In case you decide to answer readers questions again in a future entry, I'd like to ask a question.
I'm a girl in my early twenties and even though I work out, I still have a bit of a tummy. (It's a family curse of sorts, I suppose.) What is the best way to hide it? What style of shirt or dress would be the best? Or should I just simply flaunt my better features?
Since everyone who's anyone seems to be adopting babies, the pregnant-look is really out of style. ;)
Thank you so much in advance! Good luck with everything! Love, Inca

Hello Daniel dear! I'm Jeygee from the Philippines and I'm a huge fan of yours.
OMG, I think you're a darling! With your probably hectic schedule and more important considerations, you still took the time out to actually answer some questions from your fans. I think you're really a down-to-earth person! And I gotta admit it, but I have like a big, big crush on you! I dont know, but everytime you look in the mirror, do you notice how good-looking you are? I know what you're thinking "geez, what a line" right now..but that's my question really. My friend and I think you have some resemblance with Brandon Boyd, the lead-singer of the alternative band INCUBUS. You are totally adorable. And what I like about you is that we almost have the same point-of-view when it comes to fashion. I love your 13th look during the finale of PR season2. I cant get over it I swear! What was your inspiration for it? I know designing another look was a hassle back then, but I must say that your 13th look was alluring! And oh one more thing, I remember during the finale, when the ever gorgeous Heidi Klum announced Ms. Chloe as the winner, Micheal Kors asked you to give him a ring for a job...are you now working for him? Please let me know what's up with you now coz I'm really interested with what's going on with you right now. OMG I have a lot to ask you..I just dont know how to type 'em all here..and I cant keep on bugging you with all of them. Goodluck on your career and your lovelife (although I'm so jealous of your boyfriend)..Godbless and more power!
