So you know how we gays love to make over our ladies? Well, last week I got to do just that.
My mother came to visit me in New York, accompanied by her neighbor and good friend Tina, as well as Tina’s daughter Kelsey. Let me preface this by saying that Kelsey has just recently turned 16 and though I’ve known this girl for the last few years of my life as a sweet but seemingly shy girl, I have yet to see her break fully out of her shell. A tomboy at heart, she has amazing eyes and a great build but with no thanks to stringy hair, hunched shoulders and a lack of eye contact, she rarely made a strong presence, despite her 6 foot frame.
Yes, you heard me correctly, I said 6 feet … and only 16 years old.
You can imagine my fashion-heart breaking when I heard of the tribulations the poor girl endured when shopping for hip clothes to fit her lengthy limbs: shortened lengths, sale racks in the menswear department and athletic sneakers as an only option!
Gasp!
So I did what any respectable gay would do with a free weekend, a slew of fashion/beauty hook-ups and a perfectly distressed, tan leather satchel full of fairy dust … (cue sassy Z-shape snap configuration and cocky tilt of the head)… makeover time!
I had told Kelsey to let her hair grow out as long as she could because one of my favorite people wanted to get their hands on it, one of the lead stylists at Bumble & Bumble, and a personal friend of mine, Nico. Not only that, but a super-sweet and always ready to capture new talent, photographer friend Michael was willing to snap some shots of this gorgeous beauty free of charge, reasoning being if she ever did want to get into modeling at least she had something more than a snapshot to bring to an agent.

(jaw dropped effect now) she's so beautiful and it would have been a total waste if she kept wearing all that sportswear garb. you're such a great designer!

Wow, that was really fantastic! I love the first picture. She's really pretty. However, I also believe everyone needs to have confidence in his/herself. With a bit more attention to onself, we all can make over ourself. Btw, that would be great if I can shop with you. So I can definitely get some professional suggestion from you.
