The Red Carpet is Golden

I must admit that I thought that the Golden Globe Awards this year were a bit of a bore. Thank goodness for TIVO because I don’t think I could’ve sat through that entire thing without it. Yes, of course it started off strong with the ever so humble acceptance speech by the talented powerhouse Jennifer Hudson (what an amazing year already!) but without the dry humor of Meryl Streep, the sincerity of America Ferrara and the down-right dirty potty humor of Sasha Baron Cohen, I don’t know what would’ve kept me awake.

I know that the Globes are known for being more relaxed than other awards shows like the Academy Awards or the Grammy’s, but that aside, I wish I would’ve seen more fashion standouts from both genders. Some tried and failed, others played it safe and a handful were just downright mirror-less… talented as they may be it still helps to have a second set of eyes… and if there’s aren’t good, than a third, and so on and so on until you’ve got it!

Though there were but a few who I felt looked extraordinarily ravishing for the Golden Globes this year, my Personal Top Five (men and women) for the night would have to be:

5) Jennifer Hudson: This girl either has a great stylist or an amazing eye because she looks ever the movie-star part in this navy v-neck Vera Wang gown with short sleeves.

4) Forest Whitaker: Chic, sophisticated, elegant. Even the right amount of his shirt cuff is showing!

3) Jennifer Lopez: Props for taking risks and bringing us new shapes and proportions to look at than the typical mermaid train we’ve all seen a thousand times.

2) Cate Blanchett: In a stunning black off-the-shoulder gown by Alexander McQueen. The queen of high-fashion: more aggressive than Ms. Kidman and just as gorgeous.

hey daniel, thank you for the reply you posted long ago on scarf. i went crazy over it and just bought a nice one from banana republic. i had another one from Topman in malaysia but i don't think there's topman here. its freezingly cold here in oklahoma and for a person thats only used with tropical weather before nice scarves are pleasingly useful. currently i'm an exchange student in oklahoma, just to let you know that. and probably i hope to visit NYC and visit the hotel you working on. but whatever i've been mumbling up there, i just want to wish you a very thank you for a great tip on winter scarf.

I totally agree w/ u concerning beyonce...she is always over the top and i think she looked like a vegas showgirl( or diana ross, circa 1972) ..all she needed was vanessa wm's hair...reese w. looked fabulous, she should keep the bang!!! and catre balnchette, always great!

I super agree on that! I second the motion. I think the Globe this year is bit of a bore. I mean.. hmm the commercial ran like months before the show.. so I was so looking forward to it. Well my luck during the day itself.. i missed the 1st 5 minutes of it. Then I thought to myself.. this is it? i mean. Where are the super "WOW! This is hollywood-o-rama!" but nah.. i just went "wait where are the dresses? i need gowns for my classmates, we are going to have our PROM in a month".. SO THATS my 2007 Golden Globe experianzzz.
