Valentine’s Day is fast approaching my little lovebirds … and with it may come thoughts of past loves, current crushes and (whether it was good or bad) your first kiss. I’ve been sitting here thinking about what mine was like all those years ago, and quite honestly, I’m not sure if I even remember it!
If my memory serves me correctly, it took place in a dimly lit basement in fifth grade, in one of the hottest, most erotic games of Spin the Bottle one could ever imagine! Ok, that’s kind of pushing it … it was actually more awkward than hot, and definitely more coy than erotic, but it was my first kiss and I’m proud of it. I remember that a group of my friends and I had come up with the genius idea of playing spin the bottle but due to nerves and an overall feeling of embarrassment, it had neglected to become official. So throughout the week the idea had been jokingly thrown around until finally someone had to go and be all courageous (or horny) and finally decide that Friday would be the day.
So the plan was simple, we’d all go over to Sarah Christensen’s house after school on Friday, hang out for a bit and get down to biz-nas … biz-NASTY is more like it! Ok that was gross, but I do remember feeling hella nervous and recalling that no one wanted to be the first to suggest that we go downstairs.
Well, finally someone did and all seven us paraded downstairs to our most certain doom/delight while grabbing an empty 2-liter bottle from the counter. Lights were dimmed (take note that this was all happening at four in the afternoon) and all of us tried not to act like it was a big deal who we sat next to … all well aware of the fact that we were taking part in what I now have dubbed “strategic placement”… for me… I didn’t really care who as long as it was someone with workable lips!
Long story short, my turn finally came around, I spun the empty bottle and it eventually stopped on our hostess for the afternoon, my friend Sarah. A quick expression exchange of “Well, we have to, the bottle says we must do it”, a lean in and a brief peck and it was all over.
Yup, just like that. No wild fireworks, no insane passion, no awkward interruptions like me lunging for one of my male friends … just a kiss. The game continued on for a short time, the kisses becoming increasingly easier and longer each round, until finally someone agreed that that was enough for one day and that we should save some for next time.

Dan, I thought your designs are very good. I am not into designing so this opinion comes from an outsider. Thats saying a lot. I only watched the show because of a comercial that was on and I seen you. ( thought WOW who is that!!). NOw I am a loyal fan of the show and watch each season. The back and forth bickering is a hoot. Well take care and I am certain you will do well with where ever you go.
