It’s official. I’m a “welfare celebrity.” What is a welfare celebrity, you ask? Someone like myself that gets recognized from coast-to-coast but is still just squeaking by financially.
So, let’s catch up. Here’s the latest, as I travel cross country! As I mentioned in my last blog I had the fantastic opportunity to travel to Milan, Ohio along with some of my favorite Top Chefs -- Miguel, Lee Anne, Harold, Andrea, Candice and Stephen. We spent four days at The Culinary Vegetable Institute learning about sustainable agriculture and helping raise money to support Veggie U (a non-profit division of the CVI) that teaches young people how to improve their eating habits by integrating veggies into their daily diets.

Me and the Top Chefs with Greg Claus, director of CVI.

While on the farm, we toured the facility with Lee Jones (the farmer and owner of CVI and Veggie U), who showed us how they grow truly organic produce and test future products in their R&D lab.
