So, another season is officially over. It was interesting to watch the reunion special. A few facts that were left out surfaced ... mainly the fact that perhaps I wasn't totally insane having feelings of discomfort over Jackie and Rebecca dating.
Because the fact of the matter was, Rebecca HAD (and I believe still has) A FRICKIN' BOYFRIEND!
I wasn't allowed to mention that before because it was edited out of the series ... but with that fact in hand, can any of you who threw out arguable comments see my side a little better? Hm.m .. Anyways, for the most part I know I can't win in that situation, so I hang my hat on the topic and am moving on ... Can we all try to do that? Please???
This was a very special episode for me.
I really loved the tribute to Doug, I thought that it was done so well. Though the passing of a loved one is always a rough time, I rejoice in the situations that we remember all the great qualities of the spirit we lost. Doug was able to share his light with so many people because of this show, and I can't say that it is coincidental he had the opportunity to film the last year of his life ... it gave him an opportunity to truly leave his legacy. He will always be remembered and always be loved.
Everyone got to meet Jasmine in this episode, and I am so happy you did. Jasmine was going through cancer recovery throughout the process of filming this season. I was a little sad that my obligations to the show kept me from getting to see her as much as I wanted to while filming. The producers came to me with a brilliant idea... why not let her tell her story?

This was a very hard episode to watch. I think that it also has been the most emotionally dynamic episode to date. It was difficult for the show to deal with the reality (pardon the word choice) of Doug's passing. To honor his memory they really wanted to avoid making anything gratuitous out of the situation.
It was a very sad time in all of our lives, however I choose to remember all the positive contributions that Doug made while he was here on the planet. He was a light of love and generosity and that, my friends, is nothing short of brilliant.
Though Doug is missed, I still smile when I think about him ... and I think that is exactly what he would want ... from all of us.
