This was a very hard episode to watch. I think that it also has been the most emotionally dynamic episode to date. It was difficult for the show to deal with the reality (pardon the word choice) of Doug's passing. To honor his memory they really wanted to avoid making anything gratuitous out of the situation.
It was a very sad time in all of our lives, however I choose to remember all the positive contributions that Doug made while he was here on the planet. He was a light of love and generosity and that, my friends, is nothing short of brilliant.
Though Doug is missed, I still smile when I think about him ... and I think that is exactly what he would want ... from all of us.
What else, as far as I was concerned, in this episode? OH YES! Mr. Gage Weston, the "male erotica" star with a heart of gold. I think I may have had a preconceived notion of what someone in the adult entertainment industry would act like and, well – as is the theme of this year – along came this wonderfully sweet guy who changed my opinion altogether.

Graduate of the Cordon Bleu, personal trainer to the elite, and all-around good guy, Jesse shares his thoughts on life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.

I was glad to find out that you & Doug were still good friends when he passed away. The two of you have been my favorites on the show. I know it's silly, but I've cried over Doug's illness & passing while watching the latest episodes.
When I saw you with the Colt model, I could see those little wheels turning in your brain...ha! You remind me so much of a young guy from Baton Rouge, LA that worked in my small town for about 6 months recently. I swear the two of you could be brothers! Your personalities are so much alike it's uncanny. I hope I get the chance to see you on TV again.

Jessie, I just wrote in Jackie's blog telling her what a great episode I thought this was. I mentioned your conversation with Gage Weston and how it was so honest and educational. I loved your response at the end where you acknowledge how you have been exposed to another side of this war. It was so honest and real. I,too, thought Gage was a gentle giant ... and I love both of you for being so honest and real.

Jesse,
Just wanted to give you some information to correct guys like the model that you dealt with on this episode.
Though it is not the only reason we took down Sadam in 2003, we have found WMD's in Iraq. It was reported by Congress in June of 2005 that over 500 pieces of WMD's had been discovered up to that point in time, just not in any one location, but in small cache's all over.
In June of 2004, the U.N. issued a report confirming that Saddam had dismantled his WMD manufacturing equipment and smuggled it and what he had produced to Syria before, during, and after the war.
This report in turn confirmed what Saddam's Number-2 in charge of the military that we captured had disclosed. That Saddam had WMD's and had smuggled them to Syria in Russian supply trucks (don't know if they were russian or disguised as such) and had taken commercial airliners, stripped the seats out of them and loaded them up with equipment and WMD's and flown them to Syria and Lebanon.
Though the war was over in just a few weeks, we have become the police force for Iraq and their protection from Iran, trying to keep the peace while the country gets on its feet and these two warring gang's (Sunni and Shite) keep killing their own people and preventing our troops from coming home.
Also, those who call it a Civil War are totally wrong, as are those thinking all of Iraq is having problems. Iraq is split up in provinces like our counties (given its size) and of the 16 or so provinces in Iraq, only 3 of those are having problems.
But we do need to do what we should have done long ago and set some goals for the Iraqies to achieve so we can turn more of the security of the country over to them and get out of there.
Though we have done much good in Iraq, our public never gets to hear about it or see it on TV. I think it was a waste of our tax money, but we have built many schools, hospitals, revitilized waste treatment centers, electrical grids, and more. Their economy is booming and has been for a couple years now, they have 3 times the amount of cars they had before the war, women can go to school and teach school and much more. It has been a great humanitarian mission that has been underappreciated by many and needs to be wrapped up soon before we waste any more money on it.

I enjoyed your conversation with Gage, Jesse, even if it was a little uncomfortable in terms of being politically motivated. I struggle with what I think of war too-my favorite cousin did three tours of duty in Fallujah as a marine-but it's hard to reconcile all of this fighting for a worthless cause and still be proud of your own family soldier.
I'm also glad that the two of you brought up gays in the military. It's not something that's talked about openly much, and it SO needs to be. How are those of us who are straight and those who are gay supposed to grow and learn as people of one human race when so much is hidden? Thank you for bringing it to the forefront.

I cried so much watching the show last night, it was so good to see Jackie get closer to her Mom and that she knows how proud her Mom is of her.
I hope you do have a reunion show, that would be another tear jerker, I am sure.
I hope you come back for another season and if you don't I am going to miss seeing all of you so much.
It is so hard to swallow that Doug is gone, he was such a good guy and that was so clear right from the first time I saw him and heard him talk.

hi jesse,
i wanted to say i love you and your personality because you arent afaid to lay it out on the line, just like jackie. but there was one thing that i wanted to comment on in this episode with you and mr.weston, i myself am 24 yrs old and my husband is 25 yrs old and we are both huge fans of the show, we also are serving in the united states army. my husband is getting ready to back for a second time to iraq and when we atched this episode we were kind of in shock to hear you say what you said about the war in iraq, more because of the fact that you had a family member who went and served for his country and friends and family. no matter what the opinions of different people are the true americans of this country should always support our troops no matter what they feel, mainly because our troops are the ones who are over there fighting not only for our freedom but they are also keeping those people from coming back to our beautiful country where we are raising our kids and living our lives the way we want to live them. im not trying to start a controversy with my statement but i really feel that it was totally uncalled for when mr. weston got on this show and said what he said about wasting time serving in iraq when he is the one who made the choice to join our military. i really feel bad that he had to hide who he was for the time that he served but that was a choice he made on his own, no one forced him make the decison ha made. i greatly appreciate you taking time to read this comment and i hope you dont take it personally, you are one of my favorite trainers to watch. with much love and god bless you

I feel completely devistated and blindsided. I think Bravo did a poor job of handling this news and sharing it with their viewers.
Why wasn't there anything on Bravo's site back In January when this happened? Did I miss it? I was on the site late Jan. and again in Feb checking schedules and never saw a thing. Actually, I dont even recall reading anything online or in the entertainment news like Enews which you would think would have mentioned something, although I dont watch every day....but they repeat stories for weeks, usually. Please correct me if I am wrong.
They should have said something ealier. Now it appears to be editing they did for cheap ratings. If nothing else they should have had something added to the episodes to let people know what was coming up, not just Doug is sick, hes in the hospital and thats it. Then bam.
This isnt a fictional show, these are real people, and while a time of privacy is understandable.....from January to May is pretty harsh to just sit on this and not share with the viewers...who were lead to believe he was recovering.
I think he desered more from the show in that respect and just wanted to voice my opinon.
Again, if I am wrong and there was a message in some episode, or something I missed online earlier at Bravo please comment back, I would love to be wrong.

I think you are part of a very special program, you are sorta like the little bad brother that everyone loves to hate. I don't think you should have apoligized to Rebecca, hate that girl!! Can't wait until next season, until then, be the good (bad) boy you are!!!

Hey Jesse,
I'm a bit behind on my episodes, but I was totally on your side through the whole Rebecca/Jesse catfight. Every argument televised had you trying to reason with the girl, and her calling you a "bitch-boy," or throwing water at you or something equally juvenile. I don't know if she's just really young, or what eth reason is for that behavior, but you had no reason to apologize, although I admire you for stepping up and being the one to resolve the whole situation.

I saw the show for the first time when Jackie was going home to see her mother & step-father and do her talk at her high school. I was very impressed with the way the show was handled and how the people on the show talked and handled themselves. The turning point for me was when they talked about Doug and what was happening with him. Being a gay man myself, I've had friends pass and have felt very empty since their passing. The way that everyone let their true emotions out on camera when Doug passed away, made me cry and think of all of those that have gone before me. No program on TV has ever done that for me before. I fell in love with the show and am hooked on it now. I will be watching it every week. Keep up the great job you guys are doing.

Hey jesse,
I was really proud of you on last week's episode when you apologized to Rebecca about attacking her. Then I see the previews for the reunion show and you are still attacking her! Dude be the bigger man and just let it go already. If Jackie is one of your best friends, act like it. If you lost Jackie today would you feel good knowing there may have been some tension between you simply because of who she decided to date?

Jesse, though I am new to watching Workout, I must admit that you quickly became my favorite. Nothing against any of the other ones...okay...against one of them, but I just like your attitude. Was a bit disappointed in you when you took Doug's comment about you being like Jack on Will & Grace wrong, but was proud of you when you and Doug were able to work through it. By the way...I agree with you about Rebecca.

Jess....I think you're awesome and share your love of cooking. I have a question though..is your concern with Jackie and Rebecca out of genuine concern for Jackie (think Anne Heche) or more of jealousy on your part? Yes, I know it's a blunt question, and I hope I get an honest answer because to be quite frank, you're coming across as a jealous girlfriend. Maybe they are happy; did you consider that?

Not to say he ISNT intelligent or deep, but this Porn "STAR" was a total PLUG job on behalf of Colt Studios. Very clever, I might add.
Send a guy with a perfect body to train with, the GAY guy in the show and we'll see what happens. It's not brain surgery. They must've been stumped, however, to find that Jesse actually HADN'T heard of Colt Studios (which in the gay world is like saying Fox Network doesn't ring a bell to you) which even made me jump outta my chair in awe.

I just wanted to share something with you after watching the season finale.
I always thought how cute you were this season, so funny, so upbeat, just darling. But tonight I witnessed a part of you emerge that you probably should have kept under wraps. I was so turned off by you once you decided to personally attack Tiffany. By saying what you did about her just reduced you as a human being and also exposed how truly insecure and jealous you are of her. If you had just said "Gee, I have no clue what Jackie see's in her" I would have still been on your side. But all you achieved tonight was to attack someone that has done nothing to you and also insult, I'm sure, Jackie as well and make yourself look like a real a-hole.

Jesse, my pet, I wanted you to please keep a couple of things in mind. First, Doug was an angel on earth who was called back home. Second; when it comes to advising people on love? You might as well hold your breath because they may be totally wrong for each other, but you will be the one in the wrong when you speak up. So in the future? Unless it comes to physical blows, wait for it to blow over and just be there for your friend. Oh, then wait a month to do the "I told you so" dance and song!
Keep it balanced. :o)

I just watched a rerun where you were so mean and hurtful to Doug...poor sweetie, you should have seen his face and heard the sincerity in his voice talking about something that is a favorite of his andhow you misconstrued his words. I do hope that in your heart, you find peace with youself. I truly do hope you realize that Doug had nothing against you, but like you, he was being his own self. May you rest in peace Doug.
