We asked Malan to take us round to his favorite places in New York City, and we learned that he really just can't help himself -- the guy loves to help people.
A favorite among "Runway" fans -- the "Real Woman Challenge" has always been a tricky task. Watch as Malan makes a dress for Alexis. Is it us, or should Alexis and Malan have their own vaudeville routine?
Darlings! Chin-Chin and welcome to my new show. It has been an amazing journey since I came to New York, and my time after Runway 3. Time that I am so excited to share with all of you.
Before I moved to NYC, my boyish modeling photos started to circulate in New York and people started showing interest, so I packed up my things and went to NYC.I remember my first day in New York. Being in line at the Calvin Klein Building, standing next to Alec Wek and her beautiful orange angora sweater (sorry -- photographic memory), waiting for that casting ... I was so excited -- my first NYC casting and it was for Versus. I had wanted so badly to come to NYC to model. I thought it was vital that I be as thin as possible. For some reason I thought it made me look better in pictures. So for some time I ate cabbage and tuna fish and danced and excercized for four hours a day. I lost 25kg (55 pounds).
What a brilliant day today! My walk-through at Bryant Park, meeting with David Evangelista who is creating the hair for my show. Then I had a conference call with the brilliant makup artist Margina Dennis, whose team will be creating their looks for my Bryant Park show with Make Up For Ever. I found myself rushing home to get some rest and I popped on Bravo. Darlings! Make Up For Ever was creating the looks for last night's Make Me A Supermodel.
I was first introduced to Make Up Forever when I first came to NYC as a model. I stocked my cabinets with the medium beige pan-stick foundation. It took five years off of my face. In an industry full of some amazing products, this is the best I have ever used. They have the most amazing colours and the line in Paris has colours you would never dream of -- including the white I used one Halloween to create the look of a geisha. It has been almost ten years and I am excited to see the looks they have created for the show tonight. I am also so excited for all of you to see the palette Margina has created for my show using this brilliant cosmetic line.
If you go to Makeupforever.com you will thank me for it. Darlings, I never leave the house without my clear Super Lip Gloss. I love to see it when good products are discovered by the world. So next time you see me on the red carpet looking younger then I am, remember my secret.
Love,
Malan
We would really like to take a moment just to say how proud we are of Malan for this accomplishment. He really is one of the nicest guys we know, and we couldn't be happier for him. Congratulations, pal!
